Accessibility
Accessible by design.
We want everyone to be able to explore Evergreen Mountain House online with ease. Our conformance target for this site is WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Current status: partially conformant, actively remediating. That means most of the site meets the standard, but we know some parts do not yet. We would rather tell you that than claim a clean bill of health we haven't earned.
What is in place today:
- Semantic HTML with a skip link, a single main landmark, and labelled navigation regions.
- Full keyboard operation, including the photo lightbox, the booking calendar and the mobile menu, with a visible focus ring on every control.
- Text and interface colours checked against the WCAG contrast formula — 4.5:1 for body copy, 3:1 for large text and for input borders and focus rings.
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful imagery, and decorative imagery hidden from screen readers.
prefers-reduced-motionsupport throughout: the hero slideshow stops advancing and decorative animation is neutralised.
What we are still working on: contrast over photographic heroes depends on the photo behind it, so a small number of images can fall below target; and our booking calendar has been keyboard-tested but not yet audited end to end with a screen reader.
If you encounter any barrier on this site, please tell us at hello@corvushomes.com. Describe the page and what went wrong, and we will acknowledge you within five business days and tell you what we can do and when.
If you have specific accessibility needs for the stay itself — step-free access, garden-level access, or bathroom details — please contact us before booking and we will give you an honest answer about whether the home works for you.
